Students can download the Blackboard mobile app for iOS and Android.
A number of applications are available to help you create documents and files while working remotely on your home computer.
Microsoft Office 365
Microsoft Office – including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and more – is available to students at no cost. You can install software on up to five different devices as well as utilize cloud versions of the software. Visit the OIT website for more details and how to access it.
Adobe Creative Cloud
Adobe Creative Cloud provides apps and services for video, design, photography and web creations. UA’s subscription gives you access to a full suite of tools. Visit the OIT website for more details and how to access it.
Your instructor may use videoconferencing to facilitate class meetings for the remainder of the semester. Zoom and Blackboard Collaborate are the two most used technologies for videoconferencing at UA.
In partnership with the UA System, Zoom videoconferencing is available to students, faculty and staff. Zoom offers a seamless video, audio and screen-sharing experience across desktops, laptops and mobile devices.
Zoom accounts are available to students, faculty and staff; however, only those hosting the meetings are required to have a Zoom account. You do not need a Zoom account to participate in meetings – simply follow the instructions on the email invite you get from your instructor.
Blackboard Collaborate is another web conferencing option for instructors and students. Blackboard Collaborate allows for two-way audio, multi-point video, interactive whiteboards, breakout rooms and more.
You do not need a special account to use Blackboard Collaborate – visit the this UA website for instructions on using Blackboard Collaborate.
Rather than saving content only to your device, OIT encourages saving content to a cloud storage provider such as OneDrive or Box. Both are available to students at no cost. With cloud storage, your content is available from anywhere with an internet connection and protected by DUO two-factor authentication.
