The Online Learning Innovation Summit (OLIS) has a new look! We are now the Online Learning Innovation Showcase and will be providing you with even more content to support your online teaching efforts.  OLIS will continue to bring you cross-campus professional development opportunities focused on innovation in online learning, but in a virtual format featuring a series of webinars and online workshops. Presenters and participants will share experiences and best practices surrounding online learning and teaching technologies in order to improve student outcomes.

OLIS events will be held the first Friday of every month, beginning November 6, 2020. Here’s what’s coming up next for OLIS.

Database Deep Dive: Films on Demand, Kanopy, and Swank

Do you need engaging, relevant, and accessible video content for your online course but don’t know where to start and are on a tight budget? Well, you’re in luck, because UA Libraries subscribes to 27 different streaming video databases, and you have access to all of them – for free! So, whether you want your students to watch the latest award-winning independent documentary, a big name feature film, a six part series on a special interest topic, or an episode of 60 minutes from 20 years ago, look for it first in a UA Libraries database. Join us for this month’s OLIS webinar, as we take a deep dive into the top three video databases this librarian turned instructional designer always recommends – Films on Demand, Kanopy, and Swank.
