Technical Support for Faculty and Students

The ITAS Technical Support Team is available to assist online faculty and their online students with issues related to their Bama By Distance online course. Tech Support can be reached via the online help desk or by phone.  See below for contact information and hours of operation.

Spring Break 2018 Tech Support Office Hours (March 10 - March 18)

The University of Alabama will be closed for Spring Break beginning at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, March 9 and will re-open on Monday, March 19 at 8:00 a.m.  The Bama By Distance Tech Support team will address technical support issues on a limited basis during this time.  See below for the Bama By Distance Tech Support Spring Break 2018 hours of operation.

Friday, March 9 - Tech Support office closed beginning at 5:00 p.m. CST

Saturday, March 10 – Tech Support office closed

Sunday, March 11 – Tech Support office closed

Monday, March 12 through Friday, March 16 – Tech Support staff will monitor online help desk requests and voicemail requests daily during these dates to address faculty and student online course technical issues.

Saturday, March 17 – Tech Support office closed

Sunday, March 18 Tech Support office open normal Sunday hours (1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. CST)

Monday, March 19 - Tech Support office open beginning at 8:00 a.m. CST

Normal Hours of operation:

Monday - Thursday, 8:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. CST

Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. CST

Saturday, Closed

Sunday, 1:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. CST

The technical support office is closed during official UA holidays. (See Spring Break 2018 hours above) 

Students and instructors can submit tech support requests at the online help desk 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Students and instructors can also contact tech support by clicking the support link found in their online course.

Occasionally, the tech team may need to view your computer screen remotely. If a tech support representative directs you to access TeamViewer, please select either the Mac or Windows version located below to run the appropriate applet. When prompted, give the ID# to the technician.
